How to Use Your byTheia LED Mask (Screen Controller)
How to use your byTheia LED mask
For the mask with the colour-screen controller (buttons SET + − ▶II/⏻). Six steps, from the box to your first 10-minute session.
Charge the controller
- Peel the protective film off the mask.
- The battery is in the controller, not the mask. Charge it before your first session.
- Plug the USB-C cable into the port on the bottom of the controller, and the wall adapter (included) into an outlet.
- The battery icon on the screen shows the level. A full charge takes about 3 hours and lasts up to 3.5 hours of use.
The charger and the mask cable use the same port. The mask doesn't work while the controller is charging.
Sensitivity test on your arm
- Rest the mask, lights facing your skin, on your inner forearm.
- Set Pulse to NULL (off) and Brightness to 50%, set the timer to 10 minutes and start.
- Then wait 30 minutes before using it on your face.
- Light pinkness that fades within 1–2 hours is normal.

Eye protectors, mask, straps
- Put on the silicone eye protectors first, every time.
- Thread the two Velcro straps through the slots on each side of the mask (hook strap on the left, loop strap on the right).
- Place the mask on your face and close the straps behind your head: snug, not tight.
- Unplug the charger, then plug the mask cable into the USB-C port on the bottom of the controller.
Turn on and set 10 minutes
- Hold ▶II/⏻ for 3 seconds to turn the controller on.
- Press SET to move between Time, Mode, Brightness and Pulse. The orange triangle shows which one is selected.
- Press + or − to change it.
- The timer starts at 30:00. Set it to 10:00, then choose your Mode (see below).
- Leave Pulse on NULL (off) unless you want the light to flash.
Press start and relax
- Press ▶II/⏻ to start. Close your eyes and relax.
- The session stops by itself when the timer ends.
- Open the straps, take the mask off, then hold ▶II/⏻ for 3 seconds to turn the controller off.
- Apply your serum and moisturizer afterwards.
- Wipe the mask with a soft, slightly damp cloth, dry it and store it in its travel case.

Common questions
Why does the timer show 30 minutes?
30:00 is the controller's default. We recommend 10 minutes per session: press SET until Time is selected, then press − until it shows 10:00.
How long and how often should I use it?
10 minutes per session, 3–4 times a week, never more than once a day.
What does Pulse do?
Pulse makes the light flash. There are 6 settings: NULL (off), 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 Hz, and each press of + or − moves to the next one. If you're not sure, leave it on NULL for a steady light.
The light is flashing. How do I stop it?
Pulse is on. Press SET until Pulse is selected, then press − until the screen shows NULL.
Do I need to wear the eye protectors?
Yes. Wear the silicone eye protectors for every session and keep your eyes closed.
Can I use the mask while the controller is charging?
No. The charger and the mask cable use the same USB-C port on the bottom of the controller. Charge it first, then unplug the charger and connect the mask.
My skin looks a little pink afterwards. Is that normal?
Light pinkness that fades within 1–2 hours is normal. If redness lasts longer, or you feel itching or burning, stop and contact us.
How do I clean and store the mask?
Turn it off and unplug it. Wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry it. Never soak it in water. Store it in its travel case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Can I use it with my skincare?
Yes. Apply your serum and moisturizer after your session. On days you use the mask, skip products with photosensitizing ingredients, such as retinoids or some acids.
For adults 22 and over with skin types I–IV. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy, have epilepsy or a thyroid condition, or take light-sensitizing medication. Please read the warnings in the user manual that came with your mask.
